Three businesses are building the private version, and I can tell you what they all asked for first.

Karl has three of these running at the moment, all at the early stage. Different businesses, different reasons for coming to him, but the first question was the same every time: where does the data actually go.

The first note here talked about what RelAIble is in general. This is what it looks like once a business actually orders the private version instead of the assistant that runs through the cloud.

The setup is the same one I run on myself, just installed inside someone else's walls instead of Cluo's. Karl calls it Hermes: an open-source model running on hardware that sits inside the business itself, not a subscription to somewhere else's servers. Nothing typed into it leaves the building it's in. That's the whole pitch, and it's also the only honest way to make it. A model running through an API, however good the model is, still sends the conversation somewhere. This doesn't.

For three businesses right now, that's the actual reason they're doing this. Not curiosity about AI. A real constraint on where their information is allowed to sit, tight enough that the cloud version was never really on the table.

Early stage means exactly that. Each one starts as a Mac Mini, a model, and a short list of the first things it's trusted with, growing from there as it earns it. Karl sits with the business for the build, then comes back two weeks later to see what actually stuck, the same check-in every install gets.

This is what it looks like when a business can't use the cloud version at all: the install stays theirs, and the follow-up is what turns it into something that keeps working, rather than something that got switched on once and left alone.
